Vampire Knight Episode 8 Review
I don’t know if all anime’s tend to get a little dull around 7-8th episode point. It certainly feels like that this season. It’s why I haven’t been bothering keeping up with posts. They’re simply not worth the time and effort to write a review for. Vampire Knight episode 8 doesn’t really add anything for the plot. It slightly introduces additional elements such as Ichijou’s gramps, and some chick at the end whom we’re left to presume will be problematic in the future.
Yes, we are all very aware of Zero’s dilemma and his slow but sure blood sucker transformation. I suppose Vampire Knight episode 8 somewhat augments the internal conflict he must be feeling as he offs another Level E. It just feels so damn formulaic.
A few things of note are shown. First of all, is the remarkable loyalty Kaname has from the rest of the Night Class. Considering that most of his interaction with them seems to be disciplinary in getting them to toe the line towards humans, you would think some of them, especially Aido, would resent him somewhat.
Second of all, surprising no one, is Yuuki’s trepidations about being bitten. Who can blame her?
I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised that another vampire chick is in love with Kaname. The love triangle—or whatever multi angled shape this is taking—is pretty common in animes of this type, and Vampire Knight is proving to be no exception. What else are they going to do with the series if it isn’t one person protecting another because of friendship or love?
Anyways I’m still fairly bothered by Vampire Knight’s porcelain doll faces—they really are freaking made to be absolutely expressionless. When they smile, it looks weird. They resort to chibi faces for half their expressions. Only Yuuki seems to be a moderate exception to this.
