Soul Eater Episode 7 Review

May 22nd, 2008 Soul Eater by Clave

Ok so I was duped, kind of. In Soul Eater episode 7 they finally reveal who I believe will be a real baddy. I thought Doc was, and he wasn’t, though I still think he has potential. And although this guy seems to display more promising villainy, I’m reluctant to call it. He may be one of those that turn from baddy to goody halfway through. Who knows? Those of you who read the manga, but you don’t count.

Soul Eater episode 7 was quite enjoyable. Asides from some really freaky cool fighting, they introduce two new characters. Medusa, who sits in the sky with a condescending smile on her face and whispers commands while the moon is giggling and gurgling blood behind her; and Chrona, who drips tar for blood, and uses a demon/blood/scream sword.

Needless to say, since they just arrived on the stage of Soul Eater for the first time, they completely own the shit out of Maka and Soul. Maka was pulling punches trying to spare Soul some hurt. Soul takes a hit for her, but since this is only episode 7, we know he doesn’t die. Someone is following mama’s footsteps.

So technically, Soul has consumed 102 souls total, 103 if you count the one he chomped off Blair. However, their count is at 3 since they fubbed up the witches soul. As it currently stands I don’t think Soul will ever become a Death Scythe, at least not in the anime.

Moral of the story? Eat Italian pasta when you get the chance. You may regret not having done so later. Soul Eater episode 7 was funny, had decent action, and good plot development. I’m starting to get more riled up for this series than Code Geass R2.
