Soul Eater Episode 10 Review
Finding a subbed version of Soul Eater episode 10 actually took me a while. Don’t know why, it seems like a popular show. I haven’t heard anything about Soul Eater getting licensed, although that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been. Even if it did get licensed I’m surprised that would stop the half dozen or so groups that are subbing it.
Soul Eater episode 10 gives us a bit more background on the Black Star/Tsubaki duo. Black Star actually settles his shit down for the fight against the Fey Blade, Masamune, and we get to their limit break: Star Shield. Gotta love the names.
Black Star is apparently the last remaining survivor of a badass assassin clan who killed for cash and souls. Tsubaki’s older brother—who has the same nose as Tsubaki—shows up and is apparently the reason Tsubaki is at Shibusen in the first place. Eh whatever. We all know she ain’t going nowhere. In the context of the series, Black Star is surprisingly compassionate; although it doesn’t really seem too surprising as a plot device.
Asides from a minor gag where Black Star busts his balls, nothing too funny happened. The fight was ok, if only because it depicted all the blood, but I wasn’t too certain about the animation. Every episode I keep crossing my fingers hoping it doesn’t degrade, yet at the same time I feel like it will.
Soul Eater episode 10 leaves us hanging as Tsubaki enters the Fey Blade to face her older brother. I wonder if any bits of Black Star’s past will come to haunt the series in the future. Anyways, I’m kind of looking forward to next week’s episode. I just hope it’ll be easier to find.
