Kurenai Episode 7 Review
A very nice touch of Kurenai is that every so often there is a scene where the characters are talking over each other, usually two adults trying to have a real conversation while Murasaki is there bitching about something. I haven’t bothered reviewing too much of this show because here hasn’t really been too much worth reviewing. The setup is pretty ridiculous: Some illegitimate child of the Kuhōin; an orphaned high school student with a bone that can pop out of his arm; and a bunch of people who are all looking for or after the girl. Oh. That and she lives with the high school student. Bloody lawsuit waiting to happen.
Kurenai episode 7 is aptly titled Women. The Spoiled Brat Girl takes off with one of her dorm-mates, Tamaki, and is privy to the break up between her and her boyfriend. They chatter about men—Tamaki being really crushed and all the usual break up stuff—and in the process some guy, who I presume works for the Kuhōin, gets a snapshot of Murasaki on his cell phone. You would think the Spoiled Brat Girl would have learned by now. How many times has she gotten in trouble by wandering off? And it has only been 7 episodes.
Kurenai episode 7 gets the plot rolling as the Kuhōin head guy, whom I presume is Murasaki’s father, orders her returned. Obviously meaning by force, and be damned anyone who gets in his way.
Murasaki is literally why I never want to have children of my own. I realize they exaggerate her oblivious tantrums greatly, but just seeing the character makes me want to slap her. Every episode. People like that really dig under my skin. Don’t say they don’t exist. I’ve met some before, so I know they do. I really wish I slapped them then.
Kurenai is an interesting show with a rich and complex cast of characters. I haven’t been too interested in it so far since a lot of it has been drama, albeit better than average drama. The animation is, for lack of a better term, weird. There are just moments when the pictures appear goofy.
