Code Geass R2 Episode 19 Review

So Code Geass R2 19 is the big revelation episode that takes a hammer to the balls of almost all parties involved. This episode did do one thing for me: I have since revised my opinion of a potential season 3. They’re dropping characters so fast this shit might actually have a decent ending.

The crux of Code Geass R2 19 was the unveiling of Lelouch’s identity to the Order of Black Knights for the first time since he started giving them orders over their comms system. Lelouch certainly hasn’t been winning any popularity contests and the boulder that broke the camel’s back was finally dropped. Well there used to be strict punishments against mutiny, but only if the crew was caught, and as the entirety of the Order of the Black Knights stood against him, Lelouch never stood a chance.

The second most interesting part of Code Geass R2 19 was Rolo’s decision to stay loyal. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what would happen. I figured it was a coin toss at best. I didn’t really like him, but then I didn’t dislike him. I’m sure the Rolo-hate squad is happy though.

Rolo, Jeremiah, Kallen and C.C. are perhaps the only ones to stay loyal to Lelouch. Maybe this was deliberate, but all of them are people who know his true identity, and have a better understanding of him.

The Order of the Black Knights get their panties in a bunch and turn on Lelouch. See, this is why they are pawns. They’re absolute fucking tools. Like pro-life advocates. Not enough brains for a bowl of soup between them.

Suzaku is losing his marbles. Bat Shit Crazy Glasses Girl just now realizes the ramification of what she is doing. Schneizel is scheming. Cornelia is being a high and might bitch. And the Emperor is going to destroy the world.

Code Geass R2 19 is the “resolving point” of the story. The lines have been drawn and loyalties have firmed. Lelouch turns into the typical stand-alone-against-the-world-hero. Yaawwwnnnn.
