Code Geass R2 Episode 4 Review

April 28th, 2008 Code Geass R2 by Clave

Code Geass R2 episode 4 is finally out and we get to see firsthand what it takes to be an empire overthrowing mastermind: evil, twisted, conniving, sadistic—in other words all the things we admire in a man. Even if you don’t, apparently chicks like C.C. and Kallen do.

So Lelouch plays the evil manipulative asshat in Code Geass R2 episode 4 and takes advantage of Rolo’s insecurities thus ensuring his loyalty. There are two ways this can play out: 1. This comes back to bite him in the ass; 2. Lelouch honestly develops feelings for the chub (laugh).

Lelouch seemed to be…uncertain about his own plan involving Rolo. It is only natural, considering the near failures of his last few grand ideas, I suppose it is a good thing to be humbled every now and then. Still it felt to be something of a break from character for the all-confident Lelouch li Britannia.

Personally, I found Code Geass R2 episode 4 to be rather dull. His means for dealing with Rolo wasn’t particularly brilliant, and his plan for saving the old Order of the Black Knights was essentially a rehash of the first two episodes of the anime. Shit happens I guess.
