Kanokon Episode 4 Review
It seems like the creators of Kanokon heard my ranting about the lack of bunny suits in Code Geass R2 because they seem to be delivering. At least in Kanokon episode 4 they had Chizuru prance around in bunny attire for more than half the episode. A bunny suit that drains life energy is wicked evil. A bunny suit that also transforms every other chicks clothing has to be a gift from the devil. I mean, how could something so delightful, so tasteful, so revealing be evil? Apparently it can, much to Chizuru’s grief, and the pleasure of everyone else. So I say, why look a gift horse in the mouth?

Code Geass R2 Episode 4 Review
Code Geass R2 episode 4 is finally out and we get to see firsthand what it takes to be an empire overthrowing mastermind: evil, twisted, conniving, sadistic—in other words all the things we admire in a man. Even if you don’t, apparently chicks like C.C. and Kallen do. No comments
Itazura na Kiss Episode 4 Review
Itazura na Kiss is something that I tentatively decided to pick up and very nearly dropped after the first episode. Nothing about it stood out to me: two high school age people are forced together into awkward circumstances with the understanding that they will eventually fall in love. I have not seen the source material, be it manga, light novel, or graphic novel for Itazura na Kiss, but given the context of the series, it really doesn’t take a genius to figure out where it’s going. Soul Eater Episode 3 Review
I was disappointed when Death, the Kid busted out twin pistols in Soul Eater episode 3. I knew he was going to use guns after watching the end of episode 2, but it just feels counter to the grain of the anime. The idea is that they are reapers of Kishin larva souls, or something to that effect. He should at least use some kind of scythe, like gunscythes, perhaps.

I did not bother reviewing the first two episodes of Vampire Knight because they were boring. It was just the usual setup of an anime drama series. Finally, something happens in this show other than crowds of girls swooning over the vampire dudes, Zero shaking like an addict without his fix, and Yuuki running around showing some leg. Vampire Knight episode 3 finally starts giving this anime some depth and color as well as moving right along into what will likely be the first major conflict of the story. Read more
No commentsSpice and Wolf - Anime Review
So how would you like to be six hundred years old and only look fifteen? Not possible? Ridiculous. All you have to be is a wolf deity. Asides from the obvious longevity and youthful appearances you also get a sweet sleek tail, superb hearing, and a gargantuan wolf physique whenever you need to kick some ass. The downsides are you need blood or grain to change into your wolf form, and the fact that you turn up naked whenever you change back to a human. You just need to be a wolf, and have spices, Spice and Wolf. Yeah, that was bad. Read more

So Code Geass R2 episode 3 has a couple points of fail.
First: no bunny suit. Kallen didn’t have to be the one wearing it. C.C. would have been acceptable.
Second: cliffhanger ending. Again.

Have you ever told a chick the dead bones truth before? Like, hard, no sugar coating, truth. I have. More than once. It really isn’t something you want to try. Supposedly women also prefer being lied to rather than knowing the truth if it means it will spare their feelings. There is clinical evidence for this. I kid you not. Then, they get this absurd expression that is supposed to make you feel guilty. I generally try not to give them that satisfaction. The perverted concept of popular feminism has always pissed me off.
No commentsThe Forbidden Kingdom - Movie Review
Going into this movie, I was definitely not expecting anything. I figured we’d see some fight scenes, some hot Asian chicks, and cringe at the horrendous melodrama. Well the fight scenes were there, as were the hot Asian chicks, and I indeed cringed at the melodrama. I was not expecting the comedy to actually be more than passable. I got some real and genuine laughs out of The Forbidden Kingdom, Jackie Chan especially.
One of the crowning highlights was when Jet Li says his first line in the movie, “YOU FOOLR!” Yes. He said it exactly how I wrote. I’m sure the producers left that in there just for shits and giggles. The entire theater burst out laughing when he said it. Honestly I had a much easier time understanding him when he was speaking in Chinese. For comedy effect, they milked the fob accent as hard as they could. Then they had Jet Li…laugh. Have you ever seen him laugh in a movie? Off hand I can’t think of one, although I have not seen all of his films. The sight was just eerie to behold.
No commentsNaruto Shippuden Episode 55 Review
Naruto Shippuden episode 55 is really an explanatory episode where they really break down the technical aspects of the anime—you know, all those bat shit crazy techniques that pop up throughout the series. Sweet of them to do this after years and years. What else haven’t they told us? Next thing you know, Sakura will become useful, Naruto will swear off ramen, and Sasuke will be gay. As it currently stands, why did they even bother doing this? Not everything in fiction needs an explanation, and sometimes explanations simply detract from content. At least they made a point of not explaining certain things, conveniently using Naruto’s idiocy as an excuse.
